What is the southernmost tip of India?

This was the 50 Lakh question in Kaun Banega Crorepati season-1. The contestant wore a pleasant and happy expression on his face and said 'it's Kanyakumari'. Many wondered, why such a simple question is posed for such huge money.. It was wrong answer to everyone's surprise.

We all have studied in our school days, that Kanyakumari (Cape Comorin) is the southern-most tip of India. But, a point here to notice is... it is the 'Souther-most tip of Indian Mainland'.

Then, what is the southern-most tip of India?

It is 'Indira Point' in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is almost near to Indonesia. Here is a photo of that point downloaded from internet:

We can see, there is a light house at that point.

Now... Is this really the southern-most tip of India?

Well, It's really unfortunate that this 'Indira Point' got washed away during the Tsunami'2004,. and this tip no more exists. The southernmost tip of India is now more than 900 miles away from the mainland, closer to Indonesia. It is 'Henhoaha' of the Great Nicobar Island.

May be.. this is going to be a question in KBC Season-3 which is about to start in one week ...
